The Story Behind Keystone Castle Inspections — Building Trust, One Home at a Time
Every castle starts with a strong foundation — and so did ours.
At Keystone Castle Inspections, our mission is simple: to protect Pennsylvania homeowners by providing clear, honest, and comprehensive insights into their homes. Founded in Western Pennsylvania, our company was built on the belief that every homeowner deserves confidence, not confusion, when it comes to understanding their property.

How It All Began
Keystone Castle Inspections was founded by Aaron West, a certified home inspector with a background in business operations, leadership, and audio engineering. After relocating to the Pittsburgh area, Aaron recognized a gap in the local inspection industry — homeowners wanted more than a checklist; they wanted education, transparency, and a trusted partner who genuinely cared about their investment.
That insight led to the creation of Keystone Castle Inspections, a company that blends technical expertise with communication and customer service at its core. Our goal wasn’t just to perform inspections — it was to build relationships and provide peace of mind through clear reporting, modern technology, and genuine care.
What the Name “Keystone Castle” Means
Pennsylvania is the Keystone State, representing strength, balance, and centrality. The word Castle represents protection — the idea that your home should be your safe haven.
Together, Keystone Castle embodies our promise:
“We protect your castle like it’s our own.”
It’s more than branding. It’s our philosophy. From a small starter home to a historic property or multi-family investment, we treat each inspection with the same attention and respect we’d give our own home.
Our Approach: Property Health, Not Just Inspections
We don’t just look for defects — we look at the health of the entire property.
That’s why we developed our Property Health Inspection, a comprehensive approach that includes:
-
Certified home inspections
-
Mold and indoor air quality testing
-
Radon testing (NRPP/DEP certified)
-
Sewer scope and septic inspections
-
Water and well testing
-
Thermal imaging and drone roof evaluations
By combining these services, we help clients see the full picture — not just what’s visible on the surface.

"Aaron of Keystone Castle Inspections provides a very thorough report that is easy to read and share with contractors and/or other interested parties. His report gave me the peace of mind in making the decision of whether or not to move forward with the purchase of a home.
Thank you Aaron! You truly are too notch!!!"
"All houses have issues. Knowing what they are is super-important to planning and budgeting home maintenance. Aaron West provided a thorough home and septic inspection plus a radon test for a place we are buying in Penn Township. His report explains what his findings are and why they are important. We knew the house had deferred maintenance. His report put us at ease on certain issues and identified a list of other things were did not see ourselves. The most important part might have been his recommendation that we bring in chimney specialist to do a higher-level inspection of the two chimneys and fireplace. As it turns out these were worse shape than I would have thought by looking at them myself (separate chimney & fireplace repair estimate = $16,000, thank you to Aaron for bringing this to my attention!). Although nobody wants to hear about potential unexpected problems, it is crucial to know about those things upfront while there is still time to negotiate with a seller on price. Aaron's report will be a big part of our plan for catching up on maintenance and remodeling our new home. We are extremely appreciative of his help!"
